Dairy
Incorporating more dairy products into our lives allows us to get the healthy fat from omega 3. When choosing our dairy products, it is especially useful to choose omega 3 enriched products. These products do not have omega 3 unnaturally infused, but instead it is dairy from grass-fed animals. Animals that eat grass naturally produce more omega 3.
Try adding yogurt, cereal with milk or cheese into your regular diet. Sometimes just having a glass of milk can be surprisingly satisfying and refreshing as a treat during the day. To make it extra tasty you can add a tablespoon of melted dark chocolate into it, to make a heart friendly version of chocolate milk.
Fatty Fish
It is recommended by the American Heart Associating to eat fish two times a week. Examples of fatty fish are salmon, mackerel, herring, sardines, albacore tuna and lake trout. A serving of 3.5 ounces cooked is the recommended serving size. Frozen fish contains less nutrients, so try to get fish as fresh as possible. For an extra green bonus, purchase sustainably caught fish to help efforts to stop fish population depletion.

Wild Rice

The best way to get your nutrients from cauliflower, or any vegetable, is to either eat it raw or cook it as lightly as possible. You can try adding cauliflower to a vegetable platter for a fun and tasty way to eat it. Another simple way to eat it is to steam it lightly for five to six minutes, just add lemon juice and olive oil (another great source of Omega 3) with some pepper and other spices for a tasty side.
Avocado
Yes avocados are very high calorie and have a lot of fat, but they have good for you fats that contain our much coveted omega 3. Just like any food high in fat, you need to watch your portion control on avocados to make sure it doesn’t turn into an unhealthy snack. Every two tablespoons of avocado contains 5 grams of fat, and it is recommended you only consume 35 grams of fat a day. Just like anything good, moderation is key to making it a sustainable habit.
Try adding a couple of slice of avocado to a salad instead of meat. Or slice up an avocado and sprinkle low-sodium soy sauce on it for a tasty and healthy snack when you are craving unhealthy, salty proteins.
